Good food, music and plenty of fresh air, who could ask for anything more! Culinary delights are plentiful this weekend. The popular waterfront Norwalk Oyster Festival at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Norwalk (Friday – Sunday) celebrates Long Island Sound’s seafaring past. Besides plenty of oysters to feast on and an international food court the annual festival includes live entertainment, arts and crafts, vintage vessels and harbor cruises. Like to graze, check out the Taste of Mystic (Friday – Sunday). More than 30 local restaurants will line Cottrell Street in historic downtown Mystic, each offering a unique and delicious taste of their specialty. Celebrate metro Hartford’s Latin culture at the Riverfront Latin World Rhythms Festival at Mortensen Riverfront Plaza in Hartford (Saturday). Besides traditional Latin dishes, enjoy cultural art and live performances headlined by Daniel Salazar’s 20th anniversary performance of Guitar Under the Stars. Max Chef’s to Farm Dinner Series will be given at the Nathan Hale Homestead in Coventry (Saturday). Enjoy the freshest foods and produce served in the sublime beauty of this historic site. Whether you consider yourself a Foodie or not, you’ll enjoy the Taste of New Haven Theater District Tour (Sunday) located in the heart of downtown New Haven. The four hour culinary walking tour features one amazing restaurant to the next.

September 7 - Zombie Charge
 - 44 Button Road, North Stonington, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Looking for some unique adventure, check out this zombie infested, mud/obstacle course run. The idea is to survive the course with one flag belt (life) remaining. FARMINGTON
September 8 - Women's Triathlon
 - Winding Trails, 50 Winding Trails Drive, Farmington, 06032. Time: 7:30 a.m. The sprint distance triathlon, conducted in a friendly non-intimidating environment, caters to women of all abilities and ages. Participants swim a half-mile loop; cycle 12 miles and then a 5K run through the wide dirt trails in Winding Trails. Admission: Free for spectators. (860) 652-8866.
